Hannibal Man Arrested for Multiple Charges after ATM Vandalized

On Saturday June 26, 2021 at approximately 0458 hours, Officers with the Hannibal Police Department were dispatched to the 100 block of Shinn Lane for an alarm. Upon arrival officers found that an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) had been tampered with and damaged. Officers were able to identify the suspect vehicle, and later the same day located vehicle and arrested Jon C Otten (39) of Hannibal. A search warrant was obtained and served on Otten’s vehicle. Evidence from the property damage was located along with a firearm, and pills. Otten was placed on a 24 hour hold and transported to the Marion County Jail. On Sunday a warrant was issued in the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County charging Otten with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Property Damage 1st Degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Stealing from a Financial Institution. Bond was set at $50,000.00 cash or surety. Otten posted bond on the charge and was released.
