Felony Arrest Leads to Drug Seizure
On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at approximately 7:14 p.m., Hannibal Police Officers were dispatched to the 8900 block of U.S. Highway 36 for a report of a male subject with active felony arrest warrants.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with Jonathan R. Dowell, 26, of Quincy, Illinois, and placed him under arrest for the outstanding warrants. During a search of Dowell’s person, officers located a large quantity of cocaine and amphetamine pills.
Dowell was transported to the Marion County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold for Delivery of a Controlled Substance. On Thursday, November 20, 2025, a warrant was issued in the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County, charging Dowell with two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance. He remains in custody on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
