On Wednesday, May 8, 2019, the Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad (ACES) contacted Alvin R. Mayfield, 37 years old of St. Louis MO, in the parking lot of Pizza Hut. Mayfield had an active felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance. Upon contact Mayfield refused to exit the vehicle he was driving and fled the area. After fleeing in the vehicle Mayfield then fled on foot. Mayfield was apprehended. Upon search Mayfield was in possession of heroin and pills which he had attempted to discard while running. Mayfield was taken to the Marion County Jail. On Thursday, May 9, 2019 a warrant was issued for Mayfield charging him with resisting arrest and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Mayfield’s bond is set at $50,000.00 cash or surety. He remains in the Marion County Jail. There were no injuries and no damages to property as result of Mayfield’s fleeing.
