Hannibal Police Officers responded Sunday evening just after six pm to a report of a delayed domestic violence call at the police department that had allegedly occurred in the 200 block of Munger Lane. Officers were able to contact a 30 year old female of Hannibal who reported that her boyfriend had assaulted her. According to officers reports the female victim did have visible injuries but she did not require medical attention. The boyfriend was located at the residence on Munger and taken into custody for the offense. Arrested was Preston T. Lewis 41, of Hannibal, he was arrested for Domestic Assault (felony) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Misdemeanor,) he was transported to the Marion County Jail pending the issuance of a warrant. On Monday August 15th a criminal arrest warrant was issued in Marion County charging Lewis with (1) count of Domestic Assault 2nd degree (felony) his bond was set at 25,000.00 cash only he remains in the Marion County Jail.
A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
