On Wednesday, April 16th the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County issued a warrant for Chase P. Folweiler, 27 of Hannibal, charging him with Domestic Assault, Kidnapping, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Armed Criminal Action. The charges stem from an incident that began several days prior in the 700 block of Center. The victim stated while they were with Folweiler at his residence he became angry with them. Folweiler retrieved a gun and began threatening to shoot the victim. Folweiler refused to let them have access to their phone and refused to let them leave. At one point he swung the gun at the victim striking them. Eventually the victim was able to flee the residence. After the report was made Hannibal Officers executed a search warrant at Folweiler’s residence. Folweiler was taken into custody  without incident. During the search officers located three firearms, a substance believed to be methamphetamine, drug packaging materials and drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $150,000.00 cash only. Folweiler remains in the Marion County Jail.

A criminal charge is merely an allegation, and the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
