On June 28, 2011 a criminal arrest warrant was issued in the circuit court of Marion County charging Joel D. Daniels with 1 count of Driving While Intoxicated (Misdemeanor,) and 1 count of Peace Disturbance (Misdemeanor.)  His bond was set at 10,000.00 cash only and remains in the Marion County Jail.

Officers of the Hannibal Police Department responded to the 100 Block of North 7th at 8:15am this morning for a report of a disturbance. The caller reported that a male was in the area dumping gasoline near a residence and threatening people with a knife. Officers responded to the area and observed, according to reports, a 25 year old Hannibal man standing in front of a residence with a knife in his hand and yelling at an unknown person inside the residence. The suspect eventually dropped the knife and was taken into custody without injury or incident. Upon investigation at the scene officers were able to determine that a gasoline type substance was poured on the porch area of the residence.

No injuries were reported. The male is identified as Joel D. Daniels 25, of Hannibal. He was arrested for Attempted Arson (felony,) Unlawful Use of a Weapon (felony,) Driving While Intoxicated (Misdemeanor) and open liquor. He was transported to the Marion County Jail where he is being held pending the filing of formal charges.
