On Monday, October 10th, at approximately 11:43 p.m. officers with the Hannibal Police Department responded to the area of Palmyra Rd. and Bay Ave. for a domestic disturbance. During the investigation it was determined a physical assault occurred between two subjects while inside a moving vehicle. One of the occupants discharged a firearm into the air, began to assault the other occupant, then jumped out of the moving vehicle. One subject was taken into custody for domestic assault and placed on a twenty-four-hour hold pending charges. A firearm was recovered from the scene. The Hannibal Police Department has received several calls inquiring about a shooting at The County Club. This is the only incident reported in the area of The County Club involving a firearm. More details could be released about the domestic disturbance at a later date if deemed appropriate.
A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
