***UPDATE (Suspect Identity)***

The identity of the suspect arrested regarding the investigation into the death of Jennie Jo Blankenship is:            Travis Lane, 49 currently of Hannibal.

Lane is currently being held at the Marion Sheriff Department on charges of burglary and possession of a controlled substance unrelated to the investigation into the death of Blankenship.  Arrests warrants were issued for Lane out of the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County on Tuesday charging him with Burglary 2nd Degree and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Except 35 grams or less of Marijuana).  Both warrants have a $50,000 cash only bonds.  The investigation into the death of Blankenship is under the review of the Marion County Prosecutor for potential charges.

 

***UPDATE (Suspect Arrested)***

The investigation by the Hannibal Police Department into the death of female identified as Jennie Jo Blankenship, 28 of Hannibal led to the arrest of a Hannibal man on Monday.  The investigation into this incident is on-going with further details to be released at a later time when deemed appropriate to do so.

Due to recent findings and information uncovered by Hannibal Police Department
Detectives, the death investigation originally reported August 16th, is now being investigated as a potential homicide. The investigation suggests this is an isolated incident and there appears to be no risk to the community at large. This investigation is on-going and no further information will be released until deemed appropriate to do so.

 

***ORIGINAL RELEASE***

On Sunday, August 16, 2015 at 2:21 PM Officers with the Hannibal Police Department were called to an address in the 200 block of South 9th Street for a death investigation.  The investigation is still ongoing and no details will be released until notifications have been made and a full investigation has been properly conducted.
