On Sunday, September 6th, at approximately 8:50 a.m. officers with the Hannibal Police Department were called to the 100 block of South Levering for a report of a domestic disturbance. During the investigation it was discovered a 20 month old child had suffered a severe burn. The Marion County Children’s Division responded and took protective custody of the 20 month old and two other children under the age of 5. As result of the investigation Ryan Brown, 33 of Hannibal, and Nancy M. Chacon, 24 of Hannibal, were taken into custody. Chacon was questioned and released. Brown was taken to the Marion County Jail pending charges. A warrant was issued by the Circuit Court of Marion County Associate Division charging Brown with Child Abuse and Resist Arrest. His bond is set at $25,000.00 cash only. Brown remains in the Marion County Jail. The children were taken to area hospitals for evaluations and medical treatment.
