On July 17, 2026 at approximately 11:06 a.m. Hannibal Police responded to a burglary in progress in the 900 block of Bird Street. Officers were able to identify the suspect as 47 year old Brian Hubbard of Hannibal. Officers learned Hubbard had fled the location and entered a residence in the 800 block of Center St. Hubbard refused to exit the residence and a search warrant was obtained. During service of the search warrant Hubbard was located hiding under a couch in the basement. Items stolen from multiple burglaries in the area were recovered in the residence. Hubbard was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Marion County Jail pending charges. Hubbard was also arrested on an active warrant out of Marion County and Johnson County. He remains in the Marion County Jail.
Hannibal Police were assisted by the Marion County Sheriffs Department.
A criminal charge is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
