On Sunday, February 7th, Officers with the Hannibal Police Department were called to the 900 block of Church for a burglary. The reporting party stated a black male fled the residence on foot as officers were responding. The male was identified as Shawn M. Troy, 41, of Hannibal. Officers located Troy running from the area and pursued him on foot. Troy was reaching in his pockets as he continued to run from officers. He was tackled to the ground by officers and Troy continued to fight. Officers were able to secure him in handcuffs without further incident. Upon search of Troy he was found in possession of three baggies of what is believed to be methamphetamine, two baggies of what is believed to be cocaine, and a used syringe. Troy was taken to the Marion County Jail and placed on a twenty-four hour hold. Troy nor Officers were injured from this incident.

On Monday, February 8th, the 10th Judicial Circuit of Marion County issued a warrant for Troy. He is charged with Burglary and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The bond was set at $50,000.00 cash only. Troy remains in the Marion County Jail.
