On Saturday night April 27th, officers of the Hannibal Police Department were called to the 100 block of Lindsey Dr for a fight in progress involving several people. When officers arrived on scene they learned a Bowling Green MO man had been stabbed in his upper abdomen while attempting to break up the altercation. Lucas Benajmin (35 of Bowling Green MO) was arrested at the scene for Assault 1st degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Benjamin was placed in the Marion County Jail on a 24 hour hold. The victim was held overnight at the Hannibal Regional Hospital for observation. On April 28th a warrant was issued by the Circuit Court of Marion County charging Benjamin with Assault 2nd Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. His bond was set at $25,000.00 cash only. Benjamin remains in the Marion County Jail.
