ROBBER APPREHENDED IN SIX MINUTES

On Tuesday April 5th, 2022 a warrant was issued in the 10th Judicial Circuit of Marion County charging Jon C. Otten, (40), of Hannibal, with Attempted Robbery 1st degree, and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Otten was arrested on Monday, when officers located him in the Huck Finn Shopping Center after taking a report of an attempted armed robbery. Through the course of the investigation a pellet gun was located in the vicinity of the business. Otten remains lodged in the Marion County Jail on a $100,000 cash only bond.

****Original Release****

On Monday, April 4th, at approximately 9:30 a.m. Officers with the Hannibal Police Department responded to an attempted robbery at a business in the 500 block of Huck Finn Shopping Center. A male entered a business, brandished a firearm, and demanded an employee place items from the store in a bag. The employee refused and the male ran from the business.  Witnesses provided a description of the male and officers began canvassing the area. Within six minutes officers were able to locate the male and take him into custody without incident. The male was taken to Marion County Jail and placed on a twenty-four-hour hold pending formal charges.
