A warrant was issued December 3rd 2016, by the Circuit Court of Marion County charging Victoria E Norell with Domestic Assault 1st Degree, Attempted Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action. Norell’s bond was set at $100,000.00 cash only. She remains in the Marion County Jail.
On Saturday, December 03, 2016, at 9:57 am, Officers were called to the 400 block of Washington Street for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers located a 24-year-old Hannibal man with two stab wounds to his chest on the front porch of a residence. The victim was conscious and alert when officers arrived. A witness with the victim pointed out the suspect, who was now across the street. The suspect, 29-year-old Victoria E. Norell from Hannibal, was ordered to the ground after walking toward the officer. Norell was taken into custody without further incident. During the investigation, it was determined Norell and the victim live in the same residence. Norell was charged with Domestic Assault, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Armed Criminal Action. She was placed on a 24-hour hold pending prosecutor review. The victim was transported by Marion County Ambulance to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
