On Sunday, September 6th, at approximately 5:28 p.m. officers with the Hannibal Police Department were called to assist the Hannibal Fire Department with a structure fire in the 1200 block of Center St. During the investigation the fire was believed to have been intentionally set. On Monday, September 7th, during the early morning hours Robert B. Karlinski, 38 of Hannibal, was taken into custody for the arson. He was transported to the Marion County Jail and placed on a twenty-four hour hold pending charges. A warrant was issued by the Circuit Court of Marion County Associate Division charging Karlinski with Arson Frist Degree. His bond was set at $100,000.00 cash. He remains in the Marion County Jail. No injuries were reported as result of the fire.
