The Hannibal Police Department would like to remind pet owners to remember to clean up their pets waste when out in public. City Ordinance 4-109 stipulates citations and fines for failure to clean up after pets, however, this type of law shouldn’t need to be enforced, as a matter of common decency on the part of the pet owner. Unfortunately, this has already become a problem and the city asks pet owners to be more conscious when on walks with pets. If you would like more information concerning this ordinance, please contact the Hannibal Police Departments Community Service Officers at 573-221-0987.
