On Thursday, June 27th, the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County issued warrants for Michael T. Brown, 49 of Hannibal. Brown was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Those charges stem from Brown’s arrest that began early Thursday morning. Brown had a felony warrant out of Illinois for Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, a case developed by West Central Illinois Task Force. He also had an outstanding felony warrant from Marion County for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Enforcement Unit (ACES) attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a vehicle Brown was driving. Brown attempted to evade officers while throwing items believed to be methamphetamine, cocaine, and hallucinogenic drugs out of the window. Brown stopped without incident and the items thrown from the vehicle were recovered. Brown’s bond for Possession of a Firearm was $10,000.00 cash or surety. The bond on his new charges was set at $100,000.00 cash only. He remains in the Marion County Jail.
A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
