On Thursday, May 25th, at approximately 5:00pm officers were called to the 300 block of Beech St. in reference to an assault. During the investigation it was determined David L. Hall, 54 of Hannibal, caused visible injuries to another individual. While investigating the assault an Officer observed Hall on scene driving a motorcycle. The officer attempted to stop Hall to make a felony arrest; however, he continued to flee traveling outside of city limits on County Road 449. Hall drove on the opposite side of the road and collided with a passenger vehicle. Hall was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County Coroner. The driver of the vehicle was treated at Hannibal Regional Hospital. The Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Team is conducting the traffic crash investigation. More information may be released if deemed appropriate.
A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
