On Monday, 07/03/2017, Hannibal Police Officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad (ACES) executed two search warrants in Hannibal as a result of an investigation into the distribution and use of methamphetamine.

 

Officers with the Hannibal Police Department Special Response Team (SRT) assisted in the execution of a search of a residence in the 2600 block of Carroll Street. During the search numerous items were seized including a loaded firearm. Two pit bulls were located and were transported to the Northeast Humane Society. The following subjects were arrested as a result of the investigation:

 

  • Heather Powell (31) of Bowling Green; Possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
  • Erica Gray (26) of St. Peters; Possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.            
  • James Judd (28) of St. Charles; Possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
  • George Wendt (47) of Robertsville; Possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, two misdemeanor warrants, and two felony warrants.

While on scene the homeowner arrived on scene with a male companion. The two were arrested for the following offenses:

  • Brandi Nelson (27) of Hannibal, Possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.
  • Jon Morton (31) of Hannibal; possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.

 

A second search warrant was executed in the 900 block of Earnest Street in Hannibal. Officers located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the residence. Two mixed breed dogs were located and also transported to the Northeast Humane Society. The following subject was arrested at the residence:

  • Janet Morton (62) of Hannibal; possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

 

All subjects were transported to the police department and released pending review by the Marion County Prosecutor, except Wendt who was held on outstanding warrants. The Hannibal Building Inspector was called to both residences as methamphetamine was located and they were condemned. The Hannibal Police Department was also assisted by the Ralls County K9 Unit and the Community Service Officer (CSO).
