3 Subjects Arrested on Drug Charges

On Wednesday 06/14/2017, a Hannibal Police Officer on patrol located a vehicle which had run out of gas on Palmyra Road near College Avenue. While the officer was stopping traffic one of the occupants threw an item out of the window. The officer was able to retrieve the item which is believed to be methamphetamine from the roadway. Three subjects exited the vehicle in a parking lot and the officer was able to contact two of the males. The third subject was able to walk to a nearby shopping center. During a subsequent investigation the officer located a substance believed to be methamphetamine, prescription pills, marijuana paraphernalia, and items used in the production of methamphetamine. The following two subjects were initially arrested as a result of the investigation:

Joshua Rickey (28) of Hannibal- Possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and conspiracy to manufacture a controlled substance within 2000 feet of a school.

Austin Rickey (22) of Hannibal- Possession of a controlled substance (two counts), unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, tamper with physical evidence, and conspiracy to manufacture a controlled substance within 2000 feet of a school.

 

The third occupant, Kenny Schwieter (30) of Shelbyville, was located in a nearby shopping center where he was arrested for the following offenses: warrant for possession of a controlled substance, parole violation warrant, possession of marijuana, and conspiracy to manufacture a controlled substance within 2000 feet of a school.

All subjects were transported to the Marion County Jail and the case is being sent to the Marion County Prosecuting Attorney for review.
