On Tuesday 08/30/2016, Hannibal Police officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad (ACES), were continuing investigations into prostitution in the Hannibal area. At 1:12 p.m. officers made contact with a female subject in the 4200 block of Market who had been communicating with undercover officers regarding illegal sexual activity. The female, Shaienne Lewis (22) of Quincy, Illinois, was arrested for prostitution and was later released pending formal review by the Ralls County Prosecutor. At 5:11 p.m. ACES officers made contact with another female who agreed to meet an undercover officer in the 300 block of Warren Barrett. The female, Tiffany Bussell (27) of Hannibal, arrived and took money from the officer after agreeing to engage in prostitution. A male companion of Bussell’s, (Wesley Hobson (50) of Hannibal), approached and the two attempted to flee with the money in their vehicle. The subjects were confronted by the undercover officer and drove away at a high rate of speed. Officers were able to stop the vehicle near South Main Street where the two were arrested. Hobson was transported to the Marion County Jail on a 24 hour hold for promoting prostitution, interfere/ resist arrest of a felony, and stealing.  Bussell was arrested for prostitution and stealing, she was released pending formal review by the Marion County Prosecutor.
