The Hannibal Police Department received a report of a lost item in the area of the 100 Block of North Main St.    A resident of Bartlett Tennessee had called the police department around 6 pm Tuesday after she realized that she had lost her wedding rings while in town as a tourist.   She did not realize that she did not have the items until she had left Hannibal and was on her way to another city.  One of the department’s Community Service Officers (CSO,) happened to be at the police department awaiting court when he overheard the phone call come in and took it upon himself to immediately go to the location that she was describing to look for the rings.   Much to the delight of the CSO and eventually the owner when notified, the rings were found unharmed in the street on North Main.  Upon contacting the owner she immediately drove back to Hannibal and retrieved her rings.   She was very delighted to recover her rings and even hugged the CSO that recovered them.   She had valued her rings at 7000.00 dollars.
