(3) warrants have been issued by the Circuit Court of Marion County, on Carl E. Emerson Jr. in regard to the March 28th shooting on Fulton Ave. Each warrant charges Emerson with Assault 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action. Emerson’s bond is set at $300,000.00 cash only. He remains in the Marion County Jail.

At 01:05 a.m. Monday 03/28/2016, officers of the Hannibal Police Department were dispatched to the 1000 block of Fulton Ave for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they located an 18 year old Hannibal female with a gun shoot wound to her back. The female identified her assailant as Carl E Emerson (19 of Hannibal). Officers also learned two other victims, who fled the residence on Fulton Ave after being shot, were at a location in the 1600 block of Martin St. According to witnesses, several subjects, including the suspect and victims were at the residence on Fulton Ave, when an argument broke out between the suspect and one of the male victims. At one point in the argument, Emerson allegedly pulled out a handgun and started shooting, hitting the 3 victims. He then fled the area before officers arrived. One male victim, age 19 of Hannibal, was shot in the arm. The other male victim, age 17 of Hannibal, was suffered a wound to his back. The victim who suffered a wound to his arm was medically treated and released. The two remaining victims were transported to the University Hospital in Columbia MO. At approximately 09:03 Monday morning, a Hannibal officer spotted Emerson walking in the 1200 block of Broadway. When the officer attempted to contact him, Emerson fled from the officer on foot. A short time later, Emerson was located hiding in a residence in the 1200 block of Center St. Officers were able to talk Emerson out of the residence and he was taken into custody without incident. Emerson was placed on a 24 hour hold for 3 counts of Assault First Degree. This incident remains under investigation and more information will be released when appropriate.

Carl Emerson was taken into custody by Hannibal officers at 9:46 am today in a residence located in the 1200 blk. Of Center Street. Further information will be released in the near future.

On Monday 03/28/2016, at approximately 1:05am, Officers with the Hannibal Police Department were dispatched to two locations in Hannibal for a possible shooting. Officers found one female victim at a residence in the 1000 block of Fulton Avenue, and two male victims in the 1600 block Martin Street. All three subjects are believed to be shot at the Fulton Street location. All three victims were transported to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment. A 19 year old male, Carl Emerson Jr., is being sought for his alleged involvement in this incident. If Emerson is located please don’t approach and contact your local law enforcement agency. Emerson is considered to be armed and dangerous. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when it is deemed appropriate.
